if i could escape..

Woowhoo, yeewhoo
Woowhoo, yeewhoo
Woowhoo, yeewhoo
Woowhoo, yeewhoo

If I could escape
I would, but first of all let me say
I must apologize for acting, stank and treating you this way

Cause I’ve been acting like sour milk fell all on the floor
It’s your fault, you didn’t shut the refrigerator
Maybe that’s the reason I’ve been acting so cold?

[chorus:]
If I could escape (Could escape)
And re-create a place as my own world (Own world)
And I could be your favorite girl
Forever, perfectly together
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet? (Sweet escape)

If I could be sweet (Be sweet)
(I’ll try to change)
I know I’ve been a real bad girl (Bad girl)
(I’ll try to change)
I didn’t mean for you to get hurt
So ever, we can make it better
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet?

Sweet escape
Sweet escape

Woowhoo, (I wanna get away, get away) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (To our sweet escape, sweet escape) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (I wanna get away, get away) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (Yeah) yeewhoo

You held me down
I’m at my lowest boiling point, come help me out
I need to get me outta this joint, come on let’s bounce
Counting on you to turn me around, instead of clowning around
Let’s look for some common ground

So baby, times getting a little crazy
I’ve been getting a little lazy
Waiting you to come and save me
I can see that your angry, by the way that you treat me
Hopefully you don’t leave me, wanna take you with me

[chorus:]
If I could escape (Could escape)
And re-create a place as my own world (Own world)
And I could be your favorite girl
Forever, perfectly together
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet? (Sweet escape)

If I could be sweet (Be sweet)
(I’ll try to change)
I know I’ve been a real bad girl (Bad girl)
(I’ll try to change)
I didn’t mean for you to get hurt
So ever, we can make it better
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet?

Sweet escape
Sweet escape

Woowhoo, yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (If I could escape) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (If I could escape) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, yeewhoo

Cause I’ve been acting like sour milk fell all on the floor
It’s your fault, you didn’t shut the refrigerator
Maybe that’s the reason I’ve been acting so cold

[chorus:]
If I could escape (Could escape)
And re-create a place as my own world (Own world)
And I could be your favorite girl
Forever, perfectly together
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet? (Sweet escape)

If I could be sweet (Be sweet)
(I’ll try to change)

I didn’t mean for you to get hurt
So ever, we can make it better
And tell me boy, now wouldn’t that be sweet?

Sweet escape

Woowhoo, (I wanna get away, get away) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (To our sweet escape, sweet escape) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (I wanna get away, get away) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, (Yeah) yeewhoo
Woowhoo, yeewhoo

one hot dog!

Thursday, April 26, 2007 – In our Principles and Strategies of Teaching and Learning (PSTL) class, There was a group who taught us on how to Balloon Twist.

For a brief backgrounder: Our project is to be a professor for a day and we can teach any topic that we like.  Going back, one group taught us on how to balloon twist. They made an airplane and 2 variations of dogs out of the balloon. As an evaluation, they ask us to make our own balloon figure using the steps they taught us.

Balloon modelling or balloon twisting is the shaping of special modelling balloons into almost any given shape, often a balloon animal. People who create balloon animals and other twisted balloon sculptures are called Twisters. Twisters often work as buskers, clowns, or restaurant entertainers.(www.wikipedia.org)

I chose to do the dog because it is very cute.

 It looked like this:

image025.jpg    image018.jpg    image015.jpg

Aren’t they cute? =D After we have created our own balloon animals, they asked us to make a story out of them by group.

Try making one. It is fun! I got to be a kid again even if it is just a day.

These are the steps in creating your own balloon dog:

Basic Puppy Dog

Step 1–Blow up the balloon half way.

Step 2–Start at the beginning with the knot and twist a 3 to 4-inch bubble or 3 or 4 fingers wide. Make sure you hang on to both ends of balloon, otherwise it will untwist. Twist it around 2 or 3 times. Do not worry; it will not break. Why didn’t it break? There is space at the end of the balloon for the extra air. That is why we only blow the balloon up half way.

Step 3–While holding on to the twisted balloon, make another bubble the same size. This will be the one ear. Do not let go.

Step 4–Make another balloon bubble the same size. This is the other ear. Look at picture.

balloon1.jpg

Step 5–Twist balloon joints A & B together. Twist 2 or 4 times all the way around. The balloon will not break, and they will stay together.

balloon2.jpg

If yours looks like this, very good; if not, try it again. Practice makes perfect.

Step 6–Now for the neck. Twist a 2 to 3-inch bubble or 3 or 4 fingers wide. This is the neck. Make sure you hang on to the balloon, both parts.

Step 7–Let’s make the legs, after all–we want your dog to stand. Start by twisting a 2 to 3-inch bubble. Hang on to the neck as you twist the balloon, and do not let go of the leg.

Step 8–Second leg, same as the first. Twist a 2 to 3-inch bubble. Twist those two parts together just like you did with the ears. Remember twist around each other 4 or 5 times. Twist the parts together to look like the drawing.

balloon3.jpg

Step 9–Have a lot of balloon left over? Hotdog! We make the body 1 1/2 hands long. Then twisting; make sure you hang on to the balloon. Make the legs like you did in step 7.

Congratulations, you have just made your first hotdog dog.

instincts..

Today, I met my group mates (Deneb, Jazzy and Johann) for our project on PSTL (Principles and Strategies of Teaching and Learning). We went to Deneb’s dorm to brainstorm. Before meeting up with them, I arranged my things, I can’t help but stare at my umbrella and I don’t know why but I ignored it and didn’t bring my umbrella because it doesn’t fit anyway inside my bag. When we were almost done in doing our stuff, it unfortunately rained and I don’t have my umbrella—Great! X_X. I got wet and my feet are so dirty. Honestly, this happened to me twice in just two weeks. I always bring my umbrella with me but the time that I will leave it to our house it will also be the time to rain. What is my point in telling you all this? I know it doesn’t have any sense but for me there is.

What is a Human Instinct? Psychoanalysts have stated that instinct refers to human motivational forces (such as sex and aggression), sometimes represented as life instinct and death instinct. This use of the term motivational forces has mainly been replaced by the term instinctual drives. Additional human traits that have been looked at as instincts are: altruism, disgust, face perception, language acquisitions, “fight or flight” and “subjugate or be subjugated”.(www.wikipedia.org) (Subjugate: To bring under control; conquer.) We were all born with natural instinct. We cried when we were hungry – not because we were taught to, but because it was our instinctive response to our physical need. Emotion calls on instinct too (http://ezinearticles.com/). So basically, the thing I have whether I will bring my umbrella or not is a force that drives me to think without any reason but didn’t pay attention is INSTINCT. Instinct or Intuition is always piping on ourselves to follow the “vibes” or the “gut” in lay man’s term whenever we have decisions to make whether good or bad. I bet you have experienced it also. Instinct is insight based not on reason, but on awareness.

It depends on us whether to follow our instincts or not but sometimes instincts could be right. In my case, there are a lot of situations where I thought of something out of nowhere and suddenly it’s all true, I m right! Even if I don’t really know where that “thing” in my mind came from. Instincts come in simple form, you will know it yourself just like my experience above. You know what simple or little things can kill you, maybe not literally but they do. Well for me, I will follow my instincts especially if the vibes are strong and gives me a pounding heart. I bet you too should listen to it. Following your instincts should also be accompanied by thinking because if not, you will most probably just regret it. Everything should come in balance in this LIFE. We should know that.

By itself, instinct can be incredible. It’s what sparks our imagination, enables our creativity, and takes us to new heights. But although instinct can be a powerful ally sometimes it can be dangerously deceptive.

The next time I will do decisions I would go for the combination of the two: thinking and vibes. I now learned my lesson, a lesson which always knocks on me, long time ago but didn’t let it come in.

Bottom line is, trust your gut instinct; but also think things through. With that combination you’re probably making some pretty good decisions.

I m so happy that I spent my time with my new classmates and talk about our lives. In contrast, I discovered that the ringer of my cell phone doesn’t function anymore. I have to let it fix for 250php before anything gets worse. I have to save money… waaahh!!! Anyone wants to be my sponsor?

By the way, Happy 18th Birthday Clamy… my ever dearest, ever first college friend in the whole world. Hope to bond with you soon! Miss you!

my 4-day vacation..

This my vacation, short but worth remembering.

having a great summer vacation?

April 10, 2007- I started my summer class… And since then… . .. . . . . . . . . . …… well… I lost track of everything except for my studies.

My class is from Monday to Friday from 8:00am-6:00pm. I have 11 units (4 subjects) in which I take everyday. These are Nursing Care Management 101, Bio-Chemistry (Lecture), Bio-Chemistry (Lab) and Principles and Strategies of Teaching and Learning. I must admit that I don’t have enough time to prepare for my everyday class/subjects or maybe I just don’t know how to manage my time. It is a good thing that I don’t have a class on Saturdays but the burden is I don’t get to enjoy my lunch break. Would you believe that my lunch is only for 30-45 minutes, plus you have to worry on quizzes and graded recitations? Well you have to! That is the real score. I spent almost 9 hours sitting on my chair, listening to the professor in a classroom which is sometimes frigid and sometimes sweltering, holding my pee for almost half an hour (I almost acquire UTI (Urinary Track Infection)), 2 hours of traveling time from home to school and vice versa. I can’t watch Grey’s Anatomy because I don’t have time to do a marathon, don’t get enough sleep—meaning 12 hours, for me and don’t get the chance to have a chit-chat with my new classmates, to be honest I barely know all of them (WE DON’T HAVE FREE TIME!). We are so wasted and bombarded with school works.

College life isn’t easy because your “Summer Time—-Vacation Time” will no longer be one instead, be the “Toxic Time” (God bless me). It’s either you enroll for summer or you will loose the chance to go to the next level. I’m glad that I was one of those who are blessed that qualified for the dreaded Far Eastern UniversityInstitute of Nursing. I finally graduated from AHSE (Associate in Health and Science Education). In our orientation, the speaker said that if you are in the Institute of Nursing, you don’t have to be “Choosy” as his term. Well in that case I think I have to erase the second paragraph on my post (laughs). The main excuse for that is: This is the first time that I had a Summer Class–it is required. Is that valid? Anyway, I just need time for adjustment or coping should I say. You see, I m not with my friends anymore because unfortunately, they didn’t make it. It gives me a hard time because I m surviving in school because of their support or simply of their presence. Yes I have my classmates whom I knew before but my “Friends” ( I don’t call them “barkada” because in my own point of view “barkada” is somewhat of short term than “Friends—Real Friends”) are different. I really miss them. We can’t see each other that much because we have opposite free time. How sad…= ( Nevertheless, I have to continue and move on because I need to be at my best in my chosen course.

I don’t have my nursing skills yet but the toxicity is high, what more if I have RLE (Related Learning Experience) classes from the start. I just hope that I can balance my time, fulfill all the requirements and pass all my subjects in just 6 weeks. So help me God!

another one..

The Bravest Thing That I Did In My Life

bonsai.jpg

Apocalypse awaits me, Urgent my sorrow

Towards the undiscovered world that I

From warm responding flesh for a while

Shall borrow —Six PM (Nick Joaquin)

  Bonsai

Sacrificing one’s life, thinking for the benefit of the many, conquering one’s fears connotation for someone to be called a brave man. When people hear the word bravery, often they would first think of people who are in our coins and bills, history books and monuments. Heroes, whom they are called. They are the ones who are considered a person of bravery. Bravery is not only what people do but also how they do it. Then again, bravery is something that a person has inside him and is never shown as an action at all. According to Rockefoufould, “True bravery is shown by performing without witness what one might be capable of showing all to the world.” People who do good only to get famous is not practicing bravery and it’s sad that we often misunderstood this aspects of bravery. Make wrong people famous and forgetting about others who show bravery throughout their lives.

I do not know if I have shown bravery or not in my life yet. I haven’t had any opportunities to save anyone or make a difference in the world. Yes, there had been times when I have to stood up for my beliefs or said what I thought was right when it meant that I might not get to do something. I think I’ve been brave in these situations but to talk about what I’ve done and compare it to the actions of Jesus Christ when he saved us and died on the cross and to the actions of my mother when she almost died giving birth and taking care of me, it was nothing.

Studying and standing with my virtues and principles in college even if I’m just a freshie, I think now is the bravest thing that I am doing. I can feel the cant-resist temptations so to speak- circling around me, many stimuli that is destructing my concentration and little by little eating up my motivation. Different people ad different attitudes that I need to adjust with, new environment that I need to adapt with. The stress and pressure with school is consuming my being, many trials and shortcomings with my peers and family and the people who sometimes get into my nerves and drive me nuts-The battles that I need to fight against and win. If I win, this will be the bravest battle I could ever be proud of, On the other side of my mind, I also think that the bravest battle that was ever fought; shall I tell to you where and when? On the maps of the world you will find it not; it was fought by the mothers of men. Our mother loves us so much that it cannot be compared with just a small tree, bonsai but for us to understand she definitely will.

Well, I must continue to wander this new phase in my life and discover the undiscovered world with faith and courage. Always bear in mind that I could never learn to be brave and patient, If there were only joy in the world as Helen Keller had said. There would always be challenges, trials, obstacles and hindrances in life. Take chances, Make mistakes. That is how we grow. Pain nourishes our courage. We have to fail in order to practice being brave. As the cliché goes, fear is not a factor.

>>Another assignment that I saw on my files. This was my assignment in my literature class during my first year, first semester. The instruction was to write about the bravest thing you did in your life with an excerpt from the previous stories that we have tackled(Bonsai and Six PM by Nick Joaquin). I think I got a 1.25 grade in that essay.=D

Long Lost Assignment..

As I browse my files in our computer, I saw a file named “Psychology” I wondered what it is so I opened it. To find out it was my assignment during my first year, second semester Psychology class. I read it and realized that it can be a good post for my blog so here it is..=D :

Peña, Dianne Kristin G. Prof. Luzelle Ormita

20Q Nov. 26, 2005

Assignment in Psychology

Who: Teenagers, particularly students

What: Playing video games

When: November 23, 2005

Where: Ever Gotesco Mall (Recto)

Observations:

After classes, I and my friends went to Ever Recto to sing at the Videoke and play video games. When we were in the arcades part of Ever I observed that there were also numbers of students playing with their friends. They were playing video games like racing, shoot-the-enemy, street fighter, marvel superheroes and many more. As I was walking around and tried to watch some of the people play their game, I secretly laughed because their facial expressions were as if they were in the actual situation of the particular game, they made hand gestures and worse they even talk to themselves. When it was my turn to play the shoot-the-enemy video game, I also experienced the same thing.

Insights:

I realized that teenagers nowadays especially students are fond of playing video games after their class, more so cut classes. Also, when a person puts his full concentration on a certain thing particularly playing a video game they become part of it meaning, they feel like they are in the actual video game that they even make facial expressions, shield their selves, turn their heads and make side glances. Yes, funny but it is reality. It would be very hard for us to disturb people with their concentration is on a certain thing. Playing video games, arcades, and computer games serves as a recreation, a past-time and an instrument for bonding to teenagers, like us.

I can’t remember the grammatical correction that my professor checked but altleast I got 9 out of 10 score. Well I guess that will be your assignment..=D
