PHOTOHUNT 01: Candles=Petitions

My first PhotoHunt photo.

This photo was taken by me using my camera phone last April 2008. We have visited 7 churches in Laguna, Philippines to commemorate the Lenten Season.

Before taking the picture of those lighted candles, I saw people pray before it with their wishes and desires lifted to God. I find it dramatic with the colors of the candles as the person lights it and close his eyes and so I captured it on picture.

As the lighted candle melts, our prayers find its way to God’s hears with a hope that He will grant it. Being a Roman Catholic, we believe in Novenas that will grant our deepest desires and petitions. I have done the 9 mornings during Christmas or Simbang Gabi, which we call it here in the Philippines for 3 years and I have done novena to St. Jude (Patron St. of Hopeless Cases) recently to pray for my petitions and my family as well. God is really good because indeed, he listens and he grants our wishes. He always wants us to be happy.

If you happen to have a wish and you seem to be hopeless about it, just light a candle, pray for it whole-heartedly, do some sacrifices for it and surely, He will listen and will do something about it. I must say, it was effective for me.

  3. Candles, candy, it’s easy to get confused. I never quite follow the theme right anyway.
