Iron Man Movie: My Cut
Tony Stark: I never got to say goodbye to my father. There’s questions I would’ve asked him. I would’ve asked him how he felt about what his company did, if he was conflicted, if he ever had doubts. Or maybe he was every inch of man we remember from the newsreels. I saw young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero-accountability.
Press Reporter #1: Mr. Stark, what happened over there?
Tony Stark: I had my eyes opened. I came to realize that I had more to offer this world than just making things that blow up. And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark Industries.
Funny how a onetime, big time experience can change everything...
I have been wanting and dying to watch Iron Man for weeks before I’ve finally watched it at TriNoma Cinema with my friends. The 170php is worth it (I can’t believe movie ticket’s price nowadays). I know my post is late because Iron Man is not in Cinemas anymore. Never did I heard any bad comments about the film and so that made me more excited.
Iron Man is a mixed of action, sci-fi, social awareness and comedy flavor. I loved Tony Stark’s (played by Robert Downey Jr.) comedic acting. He also looked like a “mature” Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy’s McDreamy…).The Tony-Pepper relationship is a common story for an American movie but it didn’t mess up the story, in fact, it added spice to the film. The fight scene of IronMan and the Iron Monger (played by Jeff Bridges) is like one of the fight scenes in the movie, Transformers. Though some of the scenes are very predictable (I have correctly predicted some scenes it before it happened) I still loved the movie and it managed to keep me thrilled as the movie progresses. The way Tony Stark became a hero, is a lot like Batman wherein he created his own powers and ability with the use of his high-tech gadgets and computers. I was also amazed by the visual effects, the gadgets, computers, robots during the making of IronMan’s suit. I love his super fantastic cars, the power of money.
Hey, have you seen the cliffhanger after the credits was shown? Good thing I did! You shouldn’t missed that part!
Tony Stark: You stood by my side all these years while I reaped the benefits of destruction. Now that I’m trying to protect the people I’ve put in harm’s way, you’re going to walk out?
Virginia ‘Pepper’ Potts: You’re going to kill yourself, Tony. I’m not going to be a part of it.
Tony Stark: I shouldn’t be alive… unless it was for a reason. I’m not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what I have to do. And I know in my heart that it’s right.
What’s great about the movie is the transformation of an arrogant, heartless but powerful human being into a selfless, people-friendly, influential hero, Iron Man.
A proof that, EVERYBODY HAS A HEART!
