Nsg. Dx: Impaired Skin Integrity

Doctor’s Diagnosis: Pressure Ulcer Stage III

Nurse’s Diagnosis: Impaired skin integrity related to immobility as manifested by presence of bedsores in the upper and lower extremities

Diagnosis of a certain disease differs when you are a nurse or a doctor. A nurse’s diagnosis is more meticulous and detailed compared to doctors. It just goes to show that nurses are very detailed and particular when it comes to these but diagnosis is not my reason for this post.

If I will be… I hope you are…

If I will be the question, I hope you are the answer

If I will be a rainbow, I hope you are my colors

If I will be a song, I hope you are my melody

If I will be a puzzle, I hope you are my last piece

If I will be the sky, I hope you are my stars

If I will be a poem, I hope you are my every line

If I will be story, I hope you are my happy ending

If I will be a book, I hope you are my every page

If I will be a nightmare, I hope you are my wake-up call

If I will be life, I hope you are my purpose

If I will be death, I hope you are my life-after-death

Just as those things…

They become motionless without the other

They become useless if not used together

Just as me…

I become worthless

My life becomes futile

If I am without you

Or even just a thought of it

Always Be My Baby = DAVID COOK Fever

I am not a fan of American Idol. I haven’t followed any of its seasons but surely the fruit it bears, I really admire. For the fruit, I mean, the Idols they have made like Jordin Sparks, Elliot Yamin and Kelly Clarkson.

Now, they have gone to it’s 7th season yet still I haven’t followed any (but I have watched some episodes), poor me. So since the season finale is fast approaching, it’s on the 21st of May (Top 2 Performance Night) and 22nd of May (Announcement of the Season 7, American Idol) I would blog about it.

For One More Day by Mitch Albom: Two thumbs up from ME

When was the time your mom stood up for you?

When was the time you didn’t stood up for her?

Questions that always made me pause because without a second doubt, there’s an imbalance between the two. I would not talk about those times specifically but surely, times when my mom stood up for me weighs more. It should not be the case right?

Mars Ravelo’s DYESEBEL on GMA 7: My Cut

My friends may be surprised upon reading this post. I admit it. I am not a Kapuso, GMA 7 nor Marian Rivera fan. During high school, I was even a member of Kapamilya, ABS-CBN 2 defender when our section has debates about who’s the copycat or not. Anyways, we (I, Jeric and Roxanne) are all at the same room when they tuned in to GMA 7 because it was DYESEBEL (a Philippine version of Little Mermaid).

NO TRUTH TO THE EARTHQUAKE STRIKING THE PHILIPPINES TONIGHT

May 14, 2008- 5:48:50 PM

I received a text message from a friend that stated:

U.S. GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY PREDICTS A 6.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE WILL HIT PHILIPPINES PLATES TONIGHT. PLEASE BE CALM AND ALERT. This text message is from Hawaii State Emergency Preparedness Office. Please pass (no harm in being prepared) Let’s pray this will not happen.

I have received this message twice and immediately inform my brother, Jeric. Together, we watched DZMM TeleRadyo (ABS-CBN) for confirmation of the said text message. They have interviewed Renato Solidum, Director of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology and he clearly stated that THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THE SPREADING TEXT MESSAGE. He added that there is no gadget/instrument/technology invented yet to determine the intensity, place, date and exact time of the earthquake yet to come. In fact, there is no “Hawaii State Emergency Preparedness Office” and “U.S. GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY” existing. Even so, U.S. is not yet capable of detecting incoming earthquake that is out of their territory with that accuracy.

Let us not believe this rumor. If you happen to have received this text message as mine, please don’t bother to forward it to other people for it can cause more confusion instead of helping to stop this rumor as Director Renato Solidum had advised.

Here’s the video we have recorded regarding the said issue:

When a student nurse observes…

Things keeping me busy this summer are the following:

Duty at Cainta, Rizal

Duty at Morong, Rizal

Duty at Baliuag, Bulacan

Duty

Duty

School

School

Duty

Duty

Holy cow, did I just said duty 7 times? So basically, that’s it. Almost half of my summer vacation was spent attending my summer class. I was a transient student for 3 straight rotations. I became a boarder in my own home. I forgot it is to feel the coolness of our air condition and the softness of my dear bed. Nevertheless, I learned how to be independent by washing my clothes and uniform at the same time ironing it. (What an accomplishment! LOL.)
